WHO WE ARE:
Grant joined South Shore Opportunities’ community based business help in 2011. Grant’s working career includes managing sales in the retail industry and working in the lending industry. He also has a long history with Sunlife Financial , beginning as a self-employed advisor for many years followed by moving into various customer service related positions as an employee and finishing his Sunlife career as an ombudsman. Grant also has contributed to his community as a municipal councillor. Some of his volunteer work has included being a past president of a parent, teacher, student high school association, chairing a committee working to bring internet to rural NS and being vice-chair of a community based economic development organization. Grant looks forward to each day to use his skills to work with people in a meaningful way.
Alyssa Little, BBA
Alyssa joined South Shore Opportunities in Fall 2017, bringing with her a Bachelor of Business from Memorial University and several years of retail management experience in rural Nova Scotia. Alyssa is a volunteer with Junior Achievement NS and sees the skills it helps to develop for our youth. She is keen to encourage young people like herself, in Queens and Lunenburg counties, to consider owning their own business. Outside of the office, Alyssa enjoys to spend time at home caring for her very hyper German Shorthaired Pointer, Mack, and also looking after her flock of chickens (with hopes to add more animals in the future). And once the animals are taken care of, she enjoys hopping on the trails with Kris in their side by side, or taking a road trip and exploring what rural Nova Scotia has to offer! Alyssa enjoys living in Queens county, and is eager to help in the development of her community.
**Alyssa is currently off on maternity leave, increasing the population of Queen’s County one baby at a time. Please contact the office to speak with another business officer**
