WHO WE ARE:
Grant joined South Shore Opportunities’ community based business help in 2011. Grant’s working career includes managing sales in the retail industry and working in the lending industry. He also has a long history with Sunlife Financial , beginning as a self-employed advisor for many years followed by moving into various customer service related positions as an employee and finishing his Sunlife career as an ombudsman. Grant also has contributed to his community as a municipal councillor. Some of his volunteer work has included being a past president of a parent, teacher, student high school association, chairing a committee working to bring internet to rural NS and being vice-chair of a community based economic development organization. Grant looks forward to each day to use his skills to work with people in a meaningful way.
Brock Junkin, BA, CPA,CMA,MBA
Brock joined South Shore Opportunities in August 2016 on a part-time basis. Brock has a strong financial background as a Certified Management Accountant coupled with a Masters in Business Administration as well as a Chartered Director. He wants to help small businesses in this community by sharing his education and experience.. Brock spent twenty years advising small and medium sized business as a public accountant and did turnkey financial consulting for a host of business enterprises. He has been involved with many entrepreneurial ventures either on his own or in conjunction with partners, including, but not limited to Neville Mooers Consultants (Turnkey business consulting for small and medium enterprises), E.A.S.T. System Supply (Ships’ chandlery and boatbuilding supply), Covey Island Boatworks (Custom yacht manufacturer), Coral Harbour Community Development Corporation(Harvesting and dressing wild caribou), Sakku Caterers (Isolated camp catering), Qaaqtuq Dyno Nobel (Blasting services), Sakku Challenger (Survey firm). He is an active community volunteer with organizations such as the LaHave River Trail Association.
Pat Patterson, Office Manager
Pat joined South Shore Opportunities in May 1993 as Office Manager. Pat maintains the recordkeeping, does administration on the loan files and generally cares about everyone.
Krista Harding, BBA, CPA, CMA
In 1992, Krista Harding was appointed the Executive Director , serving both Queens and Lunenburg counties. She is a Certified Management Accountant and also holds a certificate in Public Administration. Prior to her present employment, Krista performed various financial roles with Mobil Oil, several fish processing companies, a video game production company, and municipal government. Krista has first-hand knowledge of entrepreneurship, having been president and marketing manager of Har-Wen Farms Limited , a small oyster farming business which exported products world wide for 18 years. She now has a new business, a farming adventure . In her spare time, Krista enjoys cross-country skiing and swimming with the seals in Petite Riviere.

Employment Solutions Society offers help finding work or training. For your convenience Employment Solutions offices are located in the same place as South Shore Opportunities. Brad Whynot and Darlene Whynot are now joined by several other people to assist you finding work or training.
South Shore Opportunities is governed by volunteer business minded individuals of Queens and Lunenburg counties.
